Maruti Suzuki Swift– TheMaruti Suzuki Swift has been in the market since 2005. The petrol version gets a 1.2-litre 4 cylinder VVT engine that generates 84bhp of power at 6000 rpm and 115 Nm torque at 4000 rpm and is available in both 5 speed manual and AMT transmission. As for the diesel variant, it is powered by a 1.3-litre 4 cylinder DDiS engine that generates 73bhp of power at 400 rpm and 190 Nm torque at 200 rpm with a 5 speed manual transmission.The estimated price of the Maruti Swift in India could start from Rs 4.91 lakh for the entry level variant. On the other hand, the fully- loaded range topping variant could be priced at Rs 7.58 lakh.
Honda Jazz– Honda Jazz made its entry in 2009 and since their inception each of the cars have gone through a series of modifications and upgradations. Jazz is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre petrol motor has been tuned to generate 88.8 bhp of maximum power at 6000 RPM and top torque of 11.21 kgm at 4800 RPM and is mated with a five-speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox. Honda’s 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel power train, on the other hand, promises to deliver maximum power of 98.6 bhp at 6000 RPM, along with pinnacle torque of 20.39 kgm at 1750 RPM and is linked to a six-speed manual transmission only. The price for Honda Jazz starts from about Rs 5.9 lakh and goes higher up to about Rs 7.9 lakh.
Honda Amaze– Honda Amaze is the brand’s first compact sedan which launched its updated version in India in 2016. The Honda Amaze comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 87 bhp of power at 6000 RPM and 110 Nm of peak torque at 4500 RPM and is mated to five-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5-litre four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine develops 98 bhp of power at 3600 RPM and generates a maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1750 RPM. The diesel also comes with a five-speed manual gearbox and drives the front wheels. Hyundai Grand i10– The Hyundai Grand i10 is an upgraded version of the Hyundai i10.Hyundai Grand i10 comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. The 4-cylinder 1.2 litre VVT engine has 16 valves and has a displacement of 1197 cc, produces a maximum of 83 bhp at 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 114 Nm at 4000 rpm. The 3 cylinder,12 valve diesel engine comes with a displacement of 1186cc, generates a maximum of 74bhp at 4000rpm and the torque figure peaks at 190 Nm spread across a wide range of 1750-2250 rpm. The car comes with a 5-speed manual transmission on both petrol and diesel models. The price for the petrol variant starts at Rs 4.6 lakh whereas whose for the diesel ones start at Rs 5.7 lakh. The price for the top end variants can go as high up as Rs 7.34 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno– TheMaruti Suzuki launched its Baleno model early in the year 2015 and is currently offered in more than 10 variants. The MarutiBaleno comes with the options of two engines. You can either opt for the 1.2 liter K-Series petrol motor, in 82 Bhp-115 Nm state of tune or go one step forward with the much more powerful 1 liter-3 cylinder Booster jet engine. A 1.3 litre 74 bhpDDiS diesel engine is also available. The new car and price varies from Rs 5.41 lakh for base variants to Rs 7.99 lakh for the high end car variants.
